Inclusive Solutions Consulting (ISC) is a disability-led accessibility and inclusion consultancy focused on making accessibility work in the real world — not just on paper.

Founded by Gabriel Harris, a C2/C3 quadriplegic with more than 17 years of lived experience navigating healthcare, technology, infrastructure and public systems, ISC combines lived experience with specialized professional expertise to help organizations identify barriers and build practical, sustainable solutions.

We work with businesses, governments, healthcare and community organizations to improve physical accessibility, strengthen disability inclusion and workplace culture, and turn accessibility goals into practical action. Our approach brings together lived experience, professional standards, research insight and specialized consultants based on the needs of each project.

Inclusive Solutions Consulting was founded from lived experience.

After becoming a C2/C3 quadriplegic, I spent more than 17 years navigating healthcare, public systems, accessibility barriers and environments that were often considered accessible on paper—but didn't always work in real life.

That experience showed me something important: there is often a gap between meeting an accessibility standard and creating something that actually works for the person using it.

ISC was created to help close that gap.

We combine lived disability experience with professional expertise in accessibility, universal design, workplace culture and inclusion. Our work looks beyond compliance to understand how spaces, services, policies and organizations function for real people in real-world conditions.

Today, ISC works with organizations through accessibility audits, inclusion and leadership training, strategic advisory, research collaboration and accessibility-focused technology review. As our work has grown, so has our team—bringing together consultants with specialized expertise to match the needs of each project.

Our goal is straightforward: turn accessibility from something organizations are required to consider into something they know how to do well.

Gabriel Harris

Founder & Principal Consultant

Gabriel brings more than 17 years of lived experience with complex disability to his work in accessibility strategy, research and systems improvement. As a C2/C3 quadriplegic, he brings a firsthand understanding of how healthcare, technology, infrastructure and public systems can either enable independence or create unnecessary barriers.

His work spans disability advisory, spinal cord injury research, accessible housing, rehabilitation, assistive technology and co-design. Gabriel has contributed to projects with healthcare, research and disability organizations across Canada and the United States, including initiatives through Praxis Spinal Cord Institute and the North American Spinal Cord Injury Consortium (NASCIC).

At ISC, Gabriel leads strategy and accessibility advisory, connecting lived experience, research insight and specialized expertise with practical implementation.

Rod Bitz

Accessibility & Universal Design Consultant

Rod brings more than two decades of experience working alongside people with disabilities, with a focus on accessibility, meaningful participation and inclusive communities. He has been involved with the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) program since 2017 and specializes in accessibility audits and Universal Design principles. He currently serves as Peer Support Coordinator for Greater Vancouver with Spinal Cord Injury BC.

Drawing on both professional expertise and his lived experience with a C7 spinal cord injury, Rod understands how the built environment can support—or restrict—independence and participation. His experience includes a decade with the City of Surrey working in recreation and fitness for people with diverse disabilities. His accessibility work has included community centres, libraries, educational facilities, government offices, tourism and hospitality facilities, parks, playgrounds, trails and pathways.

At ISC, Rod helps organizations identify physical barriers and develop practical recommendations that improve accessibility and real-world usability.

Vanessa Gray

Inclusion, Culture & Leadership Consultant

Vanessa is a Chartered Mediator, Conflict Resolution and Leadership Instructor and Coach with experience across Crown corporations, the private sector, Indigenous communities, Olympic-level sport, restorative justice and other professional settings. She is also a faculty member at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

At ISC, Vanessa supports inclusion, culture and leadership work, helping organizations strengthen disability awareness, improve communication and build more confident, inclusive workplaces. Drawing on her background in mediation, conflict resolution, leadership and facilitation, she helps leaders and teams navigate difficult conversations, reduce misunderstandings and translate inclusion from policy into everyday practice.
